Terms of sale

Effective September 22, 2026.

These are the terms for buying from this shop, run by Joy Kelleher through Thrive Gainesville, LLC, in Gainesville, Georgia ("I," "we"). By placing an order, registering for a group or a gathering, or asking about a group program, you're agreeing to them. They're short; please read them.

1. What this shop is, and isn't

I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and I also run a counseling practice. This shop is not that practice. The book, the PDF edition, the groups, the monthly gatherings and the group programs are for reflection and learning. None of them is therapy, counseling, medical care or a substitute for any of those, and buying or taking part in them does not make you my client. Nothing you buy, book or write here creates a therapist-client relationship or a clinical record.

If you're in crisis, please don't rely on a workbook or a group: call or text 988 (US), or call 911.

2. Ordering and paying

  • Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is added at checkout where the law requires it (currently, orders shipped to Georgia and digital purchases by Georgia buyers).
  • Payment is taken at checkout through Squarespace's secure checkout and the payment company behind it. I never see your full card number.
  • Your order is complete when you receive the order confirmation email. If something goes wrong on my side (a pricing mistake, a copy I thought I had and don't, a payment the card company flags), I'll cancel the order and refund you in full, and tell you why.
  • I may decline an order that looks like fraud or resale, or that ships somewhere I can't reach.
  • If a price on the site is plainly a mistake (a $2.99 book), I'll let you know and give you the choice of paying the right price or canceling.

3. Shipping, refunds and delivery

Shipping times, rates and what happens if a parcel is lost or damaged are on the refunds and shipping page, which is part of these terms. The short of it: all sales are final; a damaged, defective or lost copy is replaced. That page also says when a refund is due anyway: an order that ships later than promised, a PDF that doesn't work with your screen reader, a group or a gathering I cancel or move, a group that stops partway or doesn't fill, and a teen's seat when a parent's consent isn't in.

4. The PDF edition, and everything else I've written

When you buy the PDF edition you're buying a license to use it, not the file's copyright. The license is for you:

  • Read it on your own devices and print pages for your own use, as many times as you like.
  • Don't share the file, post it online, sell it, or give copies away, even to friends. If a friend would like the workbook, there's a copy waiting for them here, and it's how I get to keep writing.
  • If you'd like to use the workbook or its exercises with a group, a class, a team or your own clients, that's a different license; email me and we'll work something out. The printed book is meant to be bought one per participant.

Everything on this site and in the books (the words, the prompts, the exercises, the artwork and the photographs) is copyright Joy Kelleher and Thrive Gainesville, LLC unless it says otherwise. You can quote short passages with credit. Please ask before anything more.

5. Groups and gatherings

  • A seat in a group or at a gathering is for one person. If you can't come to a group, email me before the first session: you can give your seat to someone else (send me their name) or take what you paid as a credit toward a later group. The refunds page has the details, and the one rule that is different for gatherings.
  • I'll send the meeting link for a virtual group or a gathering, or the address and what to bring for an in-person group, to the email address you registered with. Keep a link to yourself; one that gets shared can fill a room with people who didn't register, and I'll have to close it.
  • These groups are reflective and educational experiences and are not a substitute for individual mental health treatment or crisis services. They're not group therapy, and I'm not your therapist in them. An online session is sometimes recorded for the people who registered, and I say so at the start. Personal sharing is never recorded.
  • Fun with Color is for teens ages 13 to 17. A parent or legal guardian registers and pays, and gives their consent in writing before the first session; this site never asks anything about the teen.
  • Be kind to the others in the room. I may ask someone who disrupts a session or is unkind to others to leave, without a refund.
  • If something comes up for you in a session that needs more support than a group can give, I'll say so, and point you toward finding it.
  • Cancellations and reschedules are covered on the refunds page.

6. Group programs

Living in Color Together and any program for an organization is arranged by inquiry, a planning call and a written proposal. The proposal and the agreement you sign are the terms for that program, including deposits, scheduling and what happens if dates change. Nothing on this site is an offer to run a program until we've both signed.

7. Reviews

I'm glad to show reviews from readers. If you send me one:

  • it must be your own honest opinion, in your own words;
  • I'll publish it as you wrote it or not at all; I don't rewrite reviews, and I don't leave out the ones I like less;
  • I'll say if you received a free copy or anything else from me;
  • I'll use your first name and, if you like, your city; tell me if you'd rather be anonymous;
  • you can ask me to take it down any time.

I don't ask clients of my counseling practice for reviews of anything, and I don't publish them.

8. Your account

You can check out as a guest or create an account on the site to see your orders and saved addresses. Keep your password to yourself, and tell me if you think someone else has used your account.

9. Things I can't promise

I do my best to keep the site accurate and running, but I can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and I may change prices, products and these terms at any time (an order you've already placed keeps the terms it was placed under).

The workbook, the groups and everything else here are offered as they are, for reflection. Whether and how they help is different for every person, and I don't promise any particular result. To the extent Georgia law allows, my responsibility for any loss connected with something you bought here is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you that can't be waived.

10. If we disagree

Write to me first: joy@colormyworldplease.com. Nearly everything is fixable in one email. If it isn't, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, and any claim is brought in the courts of Hall County, Georgia, including small-claims court, which is open to both of us.
